
Kellie Thompson
Director for the Kathryn M. Buder Center for American Indian Studies
Kellie Thompson is a member of the Seneca Nation of Indians and is originally from western New York. Kellie is responsible for the overall management and development of Center activities and programs including recruitment, student support services, curriculum, partnerships and research development. She earned her BA in psychology and gender studies from the University of Notre Dame and is an MSW Buder Scholar alumna from the Brown School. Prior to her current position she was the Assistant Director at the Buder Center; previously she worked at the Washington University Center for Diabetes Translation Research (CDTR) and the Health Communication Research Laboratory. She serves on a number of Washington University, St. Louis and national committees, some include: Breast Cancer Community Partnership, Committee for Diversity, Inclusion and Equity (Brown School), Suffrage Commemoration Task Force, Violence and Injury Prevention Concentration Committee (Brown School), Indigenous Interpretations Council (St. Louis, MO), Indigenous and Tribal Social Work Educators Association.
